Hi, the rear brakes on my Sienna were done about 2,100 miles ago, and the rotors were apparently also repaired (not replaced).

They squeal sometimes, and quite loudly. Not everytime, but generally they do squeal on and off every time I drive it.

Though I don't want to bad-mouth, were many things this mechanic did that were questionable. They used bait-n-switch tactics, charged me labor for replacing the cabin filter (which wasn't done, and is a very easy job), etc. They left some screws loose.

I am concerned that there is a problem with my brakes. Other than the squealing they feel as if they are improved. Is this squealing just part of the "break in" period?

Hi minivan mom. If the rotors were turned [WHAT THEY DO TO REPAIR THEM] then they would not squeal, now import brakes do squeal, but normally not that bad. Unfortuneately if the work done was questionable in other areas possibly the rotors were not turned.

Here is your options, go back to the shop where you had the work done not my reconmendation or go to a reputable brake shop they usually have free inspections. They will prob want to replace the rotors as they should have done the first time.

You can trust us we make no money for selling you work you do not need. But you have to aknowledge the fact that this shop failed to do the easy part of this repair, so it would lead me to believe they would have no prob not doing the work you would not be able to see.

I hope this helps if I can help please ask billymac
