2002 Toyota Sienna delayed shifting

When driven first time in the morning, transmission does not shift from 2nd to 3rd gear until about 3 miles. It occurs every morning but only once when first driven. I live in Hawaii, so ambient temperature are mild.

Erratic shifting when cold are usually caused by solenoids, valve body and transmission fluid.

When was the last time the transmission fluid were replaced?
Was the fluid replaced of the correct specifications?
Did you try to retrieve for trouble codes?
Does the Check Engine Lamp indicates when driving?
