2001 Sienna gear shifter is loose, does not shift. How to repair?

Sounds like the shift cable is disconnected or broken. You'll need to access the arm on the transmission or the other end in the column to see if it moves when you are shifting.

I don’t think these vehicles have shift cables anymore it is all electronic thru selenoids

My 01 does not shift into 3rd till it hits 35 mph when cold but fine once warm a little bit

Does any one know wich selenoid is causing the problem
