1999 Toyota Sienna Rack and Pinion HOUSING Moving when Stee

Is the Power Steering Gear HOUSING supposed to move left / right when you turn the steering wheel right / left? If not, what would the problem if the housing is moving when the steering wheel is turned?

Hello I just seen your question and thought I could help. I recentely did one on our 98 model if its rack and pinion and its moving while the steering wheel is moving its not supposed to maybe a loose bolt there is 2 bolts that hold it in place. May just need to be tightened and then more than likely you will have to have a wheel alignment. I replaced the whole thing on ours because it was leaking fluid from moving side to side for so long. Hope I could help.
