I was wondering if the Toyota dealership I bring my car to is recommending unnecessary work to be done on my car. I bought my car new in July of 2005. I currently have 9k miles on my car and went in to get my oil changed. I asked about what they should check for since I have very low miles for the age of my car. They said they would look for service that might be needed based on the age of the car instead of the miles. They came back and said that I needed my fuel injectors pressure cleaned costing $129. I let them do the service. I get gas at Chevron or 76 gas stations and do both long distance driving (not in rush hour) and short trips. Do you think I needed this service on such a new car and low miles?
Thank you so much for your help on this matter as I'm on a fixed income and can't afford to pay for unnecessary work!

Hi there,

I think that you don't need the fuel system cleaning at this stage, if you are happy with the economy that you get, the car is running well and basic tune items are attended to, such as air & fuel filters there is no reason to have the injector service.
