the computer controls the shifting on this vehicle and unfortunately they are having problems with the computers going bad causing transmission problems. they have extended the warranty on the computer for 8 years or 80,000 miles so if you fall into that category take it to dealership and have it fixed. **cost price ona computer is 1123 dollars and then you will still have to have toyota program it.
