I was drive earlier today and all of the sudden my engine started making a knocking noise at about 2500 Rpm's. Then it started to get worse and it sounded like it was only one cylinder and it was coming from the top portion of the block. I was wondering if it was a valve the was hitting the piston. I just put in a rebuild engine in January of 2008 so I hope its not a huge deal.

Yes it does go along with the RPM's. As the RPM goes up the knocking speeds up as well.

Knocking like someone is in the engine with a hammer? If so rod bearing failure.
