Greetings,
This truck will start up and maybe run for 10 minutes and then seems to cut off even before slowing down. It like the fuel shuts off.

If I'm lucky enough, it will run again for awhile and do the same thing. It sat one year and its been used now about two weeks with no problems until this started.

A person suggested replacing fuel filter, I replaced it and knew it wasn't it once it was off, but replaced it anyway. I checked the air flow meter over the air filter and according to specs, it appears ok.

I feel, i'm losing my pump, but not sure. I was told to pull the tank, but something in me says its some other electrical control or sensor keeping it off after it warms up.

I appreciate any direction to take,
Thanks,
Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Was it easy to restart?

If you suspect electrical, it could be
1. Fuel pump
2. Relay
3. Ignition switch

Thank you for your reply.

I do not have much experience on this type of vehicle, but I do know how to read a circuit and traced it back to a defective circuit control relay. I found that this relay controls the fuel pump, at least one side of it does.

I went to the diagnostic block and jumped B and FP and it ran great then. I then, as I already said, found a bad relay and replaced the relay and it runs great now. I also found why my a/c was off as well. When it rains, the water runs into these relays and I guess they shorted out.

I appreciate you getting back with me. Have a wonderful day! Bruce
