Shakes or Wobbles problem
1991 Toyota Pickup 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic ? miles

I was recently driving on a highway uphill, and as i was accelerating the car started shaking. Naturally i let go of the gas pedal but this did not help. When i tried to accelerate again the gas pedal felt like it was stuck. The brake also felt strained. I could feel the vibration through my side of the car and pedals. The experience felt as if i had been driving and suddenly switched the car to a neutral position. Any help will be appreciated thanks.

If its not a transmission problem, check and test the following below:

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires
