1990 Toyota Pickup missfires

When clutch is depressed
22 RE Engine Missfires. Sometimes it races. Sometimes it backfires. Sometimes it quits. This started after a new timing chain and a new Mass air flow sensor was installed.

Engine running rough or misfiring can be cause by the following:

Defective spark plug.
Inadequate spark/coil, defective spark plug wire.
Lack of compression
False air leakage.
Faulty fuel injectors.
Insufficient fuel pressure.
Contaminated fuel.
EGR valve that is leaking.
Oxygen sensors.
Throttle Position sensor
Idle air control valve
