HI, my mileage tachometer seems to broken because its not moving. My speedometer is broken at this time too and was wondering if this is the reason why my mileage tachometer is broken.I purchased the cable for the speedometer but have not yet installed it. Do you think this is the problem? If not what do you think?

Hi rockstarcastle,

The odometer and speedometer works as t team and if the speedometer cable is broken, both would stop working.

To check if the cable is broke, remove the end attached to the transmission and pull the cable out. If it is intact, that would rule out the cable.

Before replacement of cable, pull out the inner cable and apply some grease before inserting it back into the cable housing. This would prolong the lifespan of the cable and ensure the needle does not fluctuate.

Remember to tun the cable with as gentle as possible curves where required. Acute curves would shorten the lifespan of the cabkle and also might cause needle vibrations.
