2003 Other Toyota Models Repairing seat belt release button

Is it possible to repair the seat belt release button in a 2003 Toyota Matrix without too much difficulty? The belt works and locks but getting it to unlock is like pulling teeth.

Hi there,

Have a good look in the belt lock with a torch, there may be something lodge in it which is causing the buckle to bind up. There is no provision for dismantling as they are welded and riveted together, you will ave to replace it it it is defective.
