I haven't had one here, but I think it is a matter of removing the wheel and drum, disconnecting what I think is the parking brake mechansim and removing the four bolts that run through the backing plate. Dosconnect the sensor harnes of course. It is a sealed bearing/hub unit, so no packing needed.
Torqueing it back down is critical to the axle nut, use a torque wrench.

As far as the cost, this is not the same as the front that is pressed into the spindle, This may only be available through the dealer, but I'll look.
