Toyota start up

1989 mr2 standard engine. Have not started it in a year, should I put some mystry oil down the cylinders first?

Yes, I would squirt some oil down each cylinder. I would also make sure you have fresh gasoline in the tank and change the fuel filter and plugs.
I would also remove the cam cover and coat the lobes with assembly lube to prevent damage. Also check the condition of the timing belt.
I would also remove the plugs and rotate the engine with a rachet and socket on the balancer to check and see how freely the engine rotates.
