I have a 1994 Toyota Landruiser with 155K miles on it. The transmission has started making a lot of clunking noises as I drive. Do I need to replace the transmission? Is there something I can do now that is cheaper than waiting for it to just 'quit'? Thanks!

Hi there,

First is the transmission noisy or the transfer box at fault? I would drain the oil and check for metal on the drain plug or lumps in the oil, anyway which ever is at fault the longer you leave it, the more dammage will be done, get it checked now before it failes and costs a packet to fix.
