While driving it gets really hot underneath the passenger side. I looked underneath the vehicle, it has the heat shields for the muffler. What could cause the heat to penetrate the inside of the vehicle?

Hi there,

This sounds like that the cat converter is over heating, this can be caused by a number of problems, but normally an over rich fuel mixture, this can often be a leaking injector, start here.
