Please Help?
My husband just changed the water pump and timing belt on the vehicle listed above and now engine light, VSC and trac off are lit up on dashboard. Not only are they lit up the car doesn't accelerate at all. Maybe 5 MPH. We put a code reader and it reads P2135, P0121, P0123 and P0016.

I would double check the timing belts marks and make sure the throttle body is plugged in. I have included the timing marks in the images below so we can be on the same page.

Here is more info:

The error codes you mentioned are related to various components in your 2005 Toyota Highlander. Here's a breakdown of each code and its corresponding issue:

P2135: This code refers to a throttle/pedal position sensor/switch "A" / "B" voltage correlation problem. It indicates that there is an inconsistency between the signals from the throttle position sensor and the pedal position sensor.

P0121: This code is associated with the throttle/pedal position sensor/switch "A" circuit range/performance problem. It indicates that the voltage signal from the throttle position sensor or pedal position sensor is outside the expected range or is not functioning properly.

P0123: This code relates to the throttle/pedal position sensor/switch "A" circuit high input problem. It means that the voltage signal from the throttle position sensor or pedal position sensor is too high or exceeds the specified limit.

P0016: This code is specific to the camshaft position sensor correlation problem between the bank 1 sensor A and crankshaft position sensor. It suggests that there is a timing issue between the camshaft and crankshaft positions.

After replacing the timing belt and water pump, these codes could indicate a few potential issues:

Electrical connection problems: Check for any loose or damaged wiring connections, especially around the throttle position sensor, pedal position sensor, and camshaft position sensor. Ensure all connectors are securely plugged in.

Sensor malfunction: It's possible that one or more of the sensors mentioned in the codes (throttle position sensor, pedal position sensor, or camshaft position sensor) are not functioning correctly. Inspect these sensors for any signs of damage or wear. If necessary, consider replacing the faulty sensor(s).

Timing belt installation: Since the codes include a timing issue (P0016), it's crucial to verify that the timing belt was installed correctly, and the timing marks aligned properly. Incorrect timing can lead to performance issues and trigger related error codes. If you suspect a timing problem, it may be necessary to recheck the timing belt installation.

On the throttle body make sure the electrical connector is clean and dry, also make sure the pins are not damaged or folded over. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
