I notice lately that my car whistles when I hold the break a bit to move the car out of the parking lot in the morning. I would notice the same sound sometimes when holding the break to move the car forward slowly from a full stop.

I usually whistle when I don't know the words, just kidding. The whistle could well be coming from the brake booster, leakage at the input shaft can be the source, I am not a Toyota guy, but BMW cars do the same thing, I have seen it several times. You might be looking at replacement of the booster to relieve this noise maker. Does this seem reasonable to you?
