2001 Toyota Highlander sounds from the engine

Engine Performance problem
2001 Toyota Highlander 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

We had a flood around my area I went threw high water about up to the bottom of my door, my truck ran fine but later in the week I starting hearing sounds like my muffler was going bad when I investigate the problem it was coming from my engine I check the oil and transmission fluid both were ok what can it be?

Hi arodtone41,

You need to be more specific about the type of noise and where is it coming from. Anyway it is never easy to diagnose abnormal noises and on top of that from cyber space.

I would suspect the noise is from a bad bearing caused by water entry while travelling through the flood. Check the alternator, compressor and any other idler bearings for the noise.
