2003 Toyota Corrola S-type mileage: 60,000 ( 1.8 liter gasoline) Every morning when I start and drive my car, the engine sounds rough (like valve and lifters noise). The oil light is off. After 15 minutes driving the rough sound is gone. If I leave my car for more than 5 hours, start and drive it again the same problem will repeat. I check my oil and it is full. I change my oil and oil filter(toyota genuine) regularly. I am using 10W-30 full synthetic oil. Could it be my oil pump?

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge. This requires removing the electrical oil pressure sender and threading a mechanical connection into the hole and connecting to a mechanical gauge. The oil pump could be bad or the oil pressure bypass.

Toyota filters have a plastic cover on them (to protect from contamination) that must be removed before installation.
