A while back I bought cheap brake pads from Autozone and I think they probably chewed up the rotors. My mechanic cut or turned the rotors and I bought the ceramic pads which were installed. At the time, cutting the rotors seemed like a good idea, but a year later the rotors are warped.

My Autozone pads are lifetime. I like that. Currently, Autozone rotors only have a 2 year warranty. I can go to O'reilly's and get Wagner rotors which have a lifetime warranty.

My question is this: is it a good idea to go with autozone brake ceramic brake pads and o'reilly's wagner rotors. And of course, if I replace the rotors, I'll replace the pads, even though the pads should still have life on them.

Personally I do not like ceramic brake pads, for me you do not get the same positive pedal feel, but this is personal choice, regardless of which pad you choose, stay away from cheap rubbish, new rotors and new quality brand pads will see you right.

The 2 year rotors, ragardless of where you buy them, are chinese made, the Wagners are U.S. Made.

Use Wagner rotors and Wagner or Bendix pads, much better quality.

Corolla pads and rotors should last 50K easily.

Many people like ceramics, because they are not as dusty as cheap pads, but they do not have the feel as Mark mentioned, but they do wear better.
