2002 Toyota Corolla Pprobable exhaust manifold leak

When I accelearate in 2nd gear, I hear a noise which sounds like there is some sort of exhaust leak coming off the engine on the driver's side. I took it to Midas Muffler and they were unable to find a leak and suggested a possible exhaust manifold leak which they would be unable to diagnose. What should I be considering as a problem?

Remove the heat shield and look for burn marks on head. It is also possible that the manifold is cracked, or a bolt has worked loose.

Fix ASAP, exhaust leaks can cause a lot of damage to wiring and other components.
