2002 Toyota Corolla burning oil

We are original owners, have done all scheduled maint. And regular oil changes. Suddenly @ about 125,000 it started using2-3 qts between oil changes. Dealer said this is normal wear and tear. I have never had a toyota abruptly start using oil and at such 'low' mileage.

I agree, 2-3 quarts at 3000 miles is excessive. Look for leaks first, most common cause.
If no leaks then it is burning it, and it may be valve seals, which on Toyota's are not easy to change.
