Hello,

I have a 1998 Toyota Corolla - recently the driver side interior door handle broke and now I cannot open the door from inside. When I unscrew the handle cup, I am able to see the broken part of the door handle stuck to the rod inside, and exactly know what needs to be fixed. Is it something that can be handled on my own --OR-- is it advisable to get preferssional help for it (and pay $100 just for labour)?

Is there a website that gives step-by-step instructions (with photos) on how to replace the inside handle?

Hi there,

The door handle is rather simple to replace, but you do need to be gentle as some times they can be stubborn! Undo the screw slide the handle ass forward and lift free of the door, un clip actuator rod. When re fitting care must be taken to make sure the plastic clips in the lock engage in the slots in the door correctly.
