My 1997 toyota corolla engine light came on recently
and my car got really hard on gas. What could be the
problem?

Hi there,

Apart from the usual tune items, you should have the codes identified, and then inspect any component that is causing the code to set, Get a code first and post it here if unsure and we can advise on best way to fix your problem.
