1996 Toyota Corolla Years of manufacture

I believe it was 1989-1998, then they called it the Chevy Prizm which lasted until 2002, then the Pontiac Vibe 2003-to date.

Toyota does not actually manufacture the Prizm, Vibe. They are built in a plant in Fremont, CA by a corporation called NUMMI, New United Motor Manufacturing. It started as a joint venture between GM and Toyota in 1984 with the Chevy Nova.

They use Toyota mechanicals as well as the Toyota production model, they also use union UAW workers who have a seperate contract with NUMMI.

The venture has been VERY sucessful.
