1996 Toyota Corolla Engine noise goes "Wahhhhh"

1996 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Hey, I have a 96 corolla about 154,000 miles on it. 4 cyl engine. Recently started makeing a sound from the engine that sounds like a small dirt bike or a lawnmower. Likw a "whaaaaahh" sound. It gets pretty loud on freeway and is constant. The noise slowly goes away when decelerating. Can It be a cracked exhuast manifold or gasket?

Check the intake system, including air filter and make sure all connections are correct and air filter cover is not loose.

Exhaust manifolds usually make a popping sound, but check it anyway, look for any black soot around manifold.
