I recently returned to the country after a 3 month absence. Upon actually trying to drive the car, which was started regularly in my absence, I found that everything works, except the car won't move when I let off the clutch and give it gas. The tires want to move; however, a grinding sound occurs and I am not able to actually move forward or backward unless I let off the clutch completely.

Sounds like the slave cylinder is binding, or low on fluid. Check the slave and clutch MC for correct fluid level. Then have an assistant depress the clutch, while you watch the slave rod movement.

Inspect the clutch system for any fluid leaks.
