Hi,

Recently, I took my vehicle for inspection and it failed for OBD/Emissions in NJ. The score was 1261 against the standard of 1242. I want to fix it up and take it for reinspection.

I'm hoping to fix it my self and looking for your help.

Thanks

Either the engine is overheating or the EGR valve is not opening -when it does this there's no recirculation involves and combustion temperature will exceed 2500F therefore oxides of nitrogen will formed. Its job is to reduce the formation of NOX
