Engine Mechanical problem
1993 Toyota Corolla 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have replaced the gasket between the manifold and the header pipe 4 times within the last 2 years. The last time we replaced it with a toyota factory gasket. Each time the gasket basically dissolves or melts away. I have had a new manifold installed and the header pipe back to the converter including the converter has been replaced. Why does this gasket keep burning Up?
Please help. Thanks, Darrell

Hi there,

It will be caused by either a warping of the mating surfaces of the manifold or the nuts are backing off, I would replace the studs & nuts and use a good quality spring washer or star washer.

Try this.
