I am in Brazil. Bought a Toyota Corolla LE 1993, and noticed that the air bag warning light remains on after starting the car, probably due to a malfunction of the air bag system. So I called a technician and he scanned the system, with the following result :

Relatório diagnóstico de X-431
Tool

SMARTOX : 983060207500
dATA:02-03-2009 14:37:30

Total dos codigos ; 001
Codigos 001 :
14 Squib circuit open. ( 1 )
airbag D+ or D- open ( 2 )
hairspring short to
positive. ( 3 ) airbag
fault. ( 4 ) SRS module
fault

What is the problem? And what are the code nrs of the affected parts, in case I need to substitute them?

There is an open/short in the SRS wiring from sensor to module. The SRS module has been disabled due to this.

It is best to have a professional repair this. 2carpros, always recommends that when dealing with SRS systems, have it done by a reputable shop, due to the possibility of severe injury that can result if air bag would deploy while you are working on it.
