1992 Toyota Corolla Fuel Pump

I just had my fuel pump changed on my vehicle about a week ago. The problem is my gas guage does not work. I was told that it may be the fuel sending unit has to be replaced. Also, i've heard once you instal the fuel pump you have to change the fuel sending unit. Is that true?

the sendign unit shoudl come with the pump.. usually when the pump goes out so does the sending unit as they are in the same conditions.

replace the unit. isnt very expensive.
