1990 Toyota Corolla gear shifts out of a line

I recently had a mechanic put a rebuilt engine in my 90 toyota corrola and now when I shift from gears it jumps and when I start the car it jumps and sounds loud, could it be I need new motor mounts

You sure this is a V6? Information below id for a 4 cylinder.

Sounds like bad mount(s), but the loud noise sounds like an exhaust leak. The engine is moving way too much.
There are 5 mounts, left and right, and 3 lower mounts, front, center and rear.
Make sure they are bolted to the frame properly and the bolt that goes through the mount to the block bracket is in and tight.
Sounds like the rear or front mount are not properly installed.
The rear mount is hard to install.
