1989 Toyota Corolla timing

What is the BTDC of 5af engine? I have a problem with my engine, engine hesitate during accelaration. Carburator and distributor is newly overhauled.

Go 10 deg BTDC it 'll work on 4af/5af engine and double check your carb's accelerator pump if its squirting fuel when throttle is pulled back if not this will cause hesistation

4AFE would be U.S. Built, 5AFE is Japanese disigination of same 4AFE engine.

I tried 10 deg BTDC but the engine is rough but when I tried to disconnect the vacuum advancer ang plugged and set the timing to 10 deg BTDC the engine works fine but the hesitation still there when you suddenly pulled back the throttle.

Then it is a fuel problem or vacuum leak.

What is the required idle up of my engine 5af with aisan 2 barrel carburetor with and withour aircon? Fast idling was set to 1400rpm. I can see my VECI under my hood.

Fast idle would be a cold engine, after engine gets up to temp, idle should be 900 + or - 50.

It will automatically go down to 900 rpm if the auto-choke/fast idle cam is set correctly-
