Greetings to all,

I have a Toyota Celica ST162, that is fitted with 1991/ 1992 imported Japanese Engine, twin cam 16 valve

The car was working perfectly and suddenly stalled and it was hard to start again, after few attempts it started but every time I shift the gear to drive the RPM drops severely and the engine cuts off. Please note that when I shift the gear to reverse the RPM drops a little and the engine keeps running. Could you please advise of what could be dun.

I appreciate you fast response

Would The changing of fuel pump and transmission services would help especially that the car does not stall when I put it on reverse

When was it last major tune-up? When it dies out immediately check for spark-spark okay-check the fuel pressure. Get these areas check out before you deal with the transmission.

Is the idle air control located on top of the air filter cover and could you please describe the mass airflow sensor and where it is located, many thanks for your prompt response and excuse my ignorance being an imported engine.

The IACV is within the throttle body and the MAF sensor is in the airfilter box.
