I have a toyota camry 2000 mileage120000, and my check engine light is on. So I got it checked. They say it was the egr valve. So I took it home and cleaned it. But my engine light does not turn off. Does that mean I have to replace the whole egr valve? Or mayb I didnt clean it well? How do you clean the egr valve? And where should it be cleaned at? Could it be that my sensor is haywire? Also I what else can I do? Im tryin not spend alot but just enough to pass smog. That is the reason I cannot pass smog. :|

First, what was the code, by number? You may need a new one, but have the code read then have the light reset, if it comes on again, verify the code and post it here. You may need to clean the port under it.
