I have a 1992 toyota camry le that runs great at 227k but lately a lot it starts and immediately dies. I can start it again and give it gas it stays on as soon as I stop giving it gas she dies. It is not all the time but now it is everyday any ideas? Toyota wants $90 to just look at her, and I love her too much to part with. :(

I had same problem with 2001 Avalon. Took it to the shop and they first replaced the battery and then couldn't find any probem. Evidently it was the battery.

Take your car to an alternator/battery shop and have them check your battery. Maybe just purchasing it will fix your problem.

Good luck.
