I have a 1987 toyota camry station wagon, 4cyl 2.0 automatic transmission a/c power steering, front wheel drive. My alternator is charging at 16v dc I wanna know if that is good or a bad charging voltage cause the auto parts store is saying it is good and not want to warranty the alternator but my tester is saying it is bad. So in this case what to do

16volts your cutting it real close on overcharging is that a no load or load test. Normal range should be 13.5-15.5, you're just 0.50 volts over

Your problem on the 16volts is the IVR not maintaining the correct voltages.

My opinion is exchange it or take the money and run.
