Haven't found the answer to my problem yet. There is a noise like the ticking of a clock from around the transmission when I hood up the test light from the neg cable to the neg terminal.

Thanks Neal

Neal is the check engine light on, or any shifting problem when driving?

I have been out of town and not been driving the car. I put the test light on it again yesterday and didn't hear the ticking. So I left the battery cable on the terminal and it started right up this morning.
There have been no lights come on and no shifting problems.
I'm assuming there is now nothing to look for until the battery dies again.

The clickng under the hood was most likley a relay, it may have unstuck itself during the test. No more draw?
