Engine problem
2000 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 145000 miles

I took my Toyota in for maintance and the shop repaired a valve cover leak that was leaking. However the car is still leaking oil leaving a puddle 6 inches in diameter when it is left parked overnight. They believe that the leak is behind the timing belt and the leak will be difficult to get to and fix. They quoted me a price of almost $1000 to fix the leak. The price includes parts and service and the price could be less if they get in there and less is messed up than they thought. Is this a reasonable price, and what long term damage could I expect if the problem was not fixed?

No oil will cause sever engine damage. I would try cleaning it real good to see whre it is leaking from. Ifit leaks overnight it might just be the oil pan gasket. If it is the front crank seal, $1000 is too much
