I recently had my car serviced at a non Toyota Service Center ( They replaced my oil pan, including the installment of a gasket). I then had my oil changed at a Toyota Serivce Center where they told me that the oil pan was leaking and my car does not need the gasket that was installed. My question is does ny car need a gasket? Or what does my car's oil pan need?

Hi there,

these sumps are chemically sealed, that is they don't use a gasket nut Toyota use a special sealant that works well, I would have the gasket replaced with the sealant compound.
