1st off, you stated they replaced them at 80,000 kilometres? Stock plugs are rated at around 90,000 miles. However they should be replaced at around 75,000-80,000 miles. You never wait to last minute. Its like driving with a fuel light on. Are you gonna wait till you run out of gas, or fill up before you run out? In my opinion you did the right thing.
