I have a 1997 toyota camry, and every time it's rainy and humid, or rainy and cold, much like it was today, the engine will rotate but will either not start the first time, or start sluggishly. This time it just would not start at all. A mechanic recently told me that sometimes oil can get into the belt and hoses, and obstruct the flow of air. I would like to know what parts of any, I should consider replacing, and how to use the starting fluid.

Thanks

HI there,

This mechanic is talking rubbish, and starter fluid is a sure fire way to wreck the engine, get a mechanic that knows what he is doing to do a diagnostic scan to check for unresolved fault codes, have a tune done and get the cold start injector check, start here.

Do you hear the fuel pump when you turn key to run? I need an answer for this Q very important

And don't forget the coolant temperature sensor and test out the airflow meter this is the one that grounds the Fp circuit of the circuit opening relay from there it powers the fuel pump-
