Had spark plug wire failure, shorted in deep plug well, repaced wires and plugs still feels like its missing, pulled plug wire off and engine runs same with plug in wire but out of engine very weak or no spark. Could ignition have been damaged when plug wire shorted and how do I check, fix

What is the ohms of the wire in question and how long it the wire. It could be a bad wire or bad plug. Is there any oil on the plug anywhere?

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

Having the lead short to earth is not a problem for the ignition system, as this is all it is doing with in the engine, I would be checking in side the cap for any cracks and fine black lines, this is carbon tracking, if it is a poor spark issue on one cylinder only and you have replaced the plugs and leads, check the cap, but also don't discount a faulty new lead plug, I have been caught out there before.
