When I brake at a light there is a noise that is very loud. Hard to describe, not a squeak or scrape. New brakes and rotors were put in and the noise is still there. Car stops fine but the noise makes me nervous. I was thinking that it was the ABS although there is no light that comes on. I am at a loss. Took it to the local mechanic and his response was " beats me- never heard that before"

Hi there,

You better take it to a mechanic the want to help, that is a very poor attitude, it will be a simple job to listen and locate this fault, it just may be that the brakes need bedding in or that something is loose may be an anti rattle clip? Find a mechanic that will inspect rather that fob it off.
