I am not quite sure where the problem lies in since I just replaced my transmission 3 months ago. Just the other day, I got rear ended, and after that, I have been having problems accelerating. Before, it was perfectly fine. Now, whenever I accelerate, I have to press the accelerator a couple of times before my car moves. However, the RPM goes up to 3000, 5000 before my car finally really gets anywhere farther than 2 feet. It reverses fine. The problem is driving forward and accelerating. Any help or insight would be deeply appreciated since I just recently fixed my car up (yet again) too.

Acceleration problem could be caused by one of the following below:

Oxygen sensor
Catalytic converter
Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires
