Electrical problem
1991 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 197k miles

The concern is in regards to the Right Rear 1157 brake/tail light bulb.

When headlights are on, it's weak (weaker than the corresponding left side 1157)

When brakes are applied (with headlights - or even just parking lights - on), R.S. 1157 goes out completely (L.S. Is unaffected)

When brakes are applied with headlight switch off, both 1157s function normally

Any suggestions?

Spare was my original, which I repaired after getting one at a junk yard about a year or so ago; after I got things working correctly, I examined the working one, repaired the original, and got it to perform then same.

However, here's an interesting concept, which I may look into tomorrow )click on link below (i.e., one socket is pretty scaley...I'll ground the socket to the chassis, re-examine both boxes (the newer and the original....etc).

Thanx
