Hey guys. Idle speed will sometimes be normal (6-700), but is often in the 1200 area after some driving. But when running the air conditioner and even shutting that off, it can go settle in even higher - 1800-2500rpm!

I have sprayed carb spray into the Idle Control Valve air intake while connecting/disconnecting the electrical to it. I can't access the valve from the air chamber; although I did spray that area down. Any other thoughts on correcting this?

Hi abbottim,

Thank you for the donation.

Check the coolant level. Shortage of coolant would cause the idle to increase.

Check the thermostat. A stuck in open thermostat would result in the coolant operating below operating temperature, especially with AC turned ON.
