Shakes or Wobbles problem
1990 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Automatic

Everytime I go over about 50mph the car shakes really badly. I got the alignment and the wheels balanced and niether did anything. It also only shakes while I'm at that speed or over and pressing on the gas. If I take my foot off the gas while at that speed or over it doesn't shake. Any ideas?

You sure its not being caused by the transmission? If not check and test below components.

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires

Thank you so much! That's really helpful.I kept thinking it might be the transmission because it seems to have problems with shifting from 3rd to 4th, it hesitates and the RMS stay too high for too long before it switches over to the next gear. Now at least I have a better idea of what to fix. Thank you again.
