1989 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 280000 miles
Our old reliable Camry appears to have a gremlin in the starting cirtuit.
We've checked all of the usual culprits - starter, starter relay, etc.
The problem is intermitten and may be in the safety switch that prohibits starting whenever the gearshif is not in " Park". Or possibly the problem may be in the steering column?
Does this make sense? If so, where do we find and how do we isolate the problem and make the repair?
